About The Bell in the Lake:

Norway, 1880. Astrid dreams of a life beyond marriage, children, and working the land to the end of her days. The young pastor Kai Schweigaard comes into her life when he takes over the small parish of Butangen, with its 700-year-old stave church and its legendary bells whose history is tied to Astrid?s ancestors. It is said that the bells ring when danger is imminent.

But Pastor Schweigaard wants to tear down the church and invites talented architecture student Gerhard Sch?nauer from Dresden to oversee the removal of the church and its reconstruction in the German city. Astrid is determined that the bells must stay in her village. Then Astrid falls in love with Gerhard. She must make a choice: for her homeland and the pastor, or for an uncertain future in Germany. Then the bells begin to ring?

    • I understand that, but I can't really grasp how it works in practice, but never mind 😵‍💫
    • It's local independent shops supporting one another.
    • Adding my recommendation for Niko too. Found his number on here and he came out at short notice on a busy weeknight to help us with a kitchen sink issue that had flooded our kitchen that day. Really helpful, responsive and went out of his way to fit us in and help us out. Very reasonably priced too - would thoroughly recommend!
    • Looks like it! Though according to the OP, they are "golden, hand-crimped parcels  packed with flavour" 😀 I don't understand. Admittedly my brain is functioning at a very low level at the moment. Does that mean various local shops get together and agree to offer a discount to anyone who shows them a receipt from one of the other ones dated the same day? I can't see what's in it for either of them, unless people shop somewhere they wouldn't otherwise have done just to get the discount. Is it for vaguely  linked things, say cheese from a cheese shop, wine from another shop? Showing my age there.  And then suppose it's always the same shop which people go to second to get the discount? What's in it for the first shop? People go there in order to get the discount in the second shop?
