Home schooling?

Hi,

It is a couple of years before I have to think about primary school for my LO. But I am interested in home schooling - particuarly as I am worried about the lack of primary school places in Southwark, and worried we wont get into a school near us.

Have you any advice? Do you get help from the local council or do you have to fund it completely yourself? I imagine that, with other home schoolers locally, that the kids get as much socialisation as they would at school - is this the case?

AFAIK no funding or support from School. As long as your child/ren attend after school activities and saturday extra curricular activities I don't see any problem in socialisation.

Thanks Knomester, meant to post the same few days ago and forgot. Fi who runs Natural Childhood/magic circle groups is a great person to connect with in this area and lots of homeschoolers, would be homeschoolers and people just generally interested in child-led activities, attend. Plus the site is great and has loads of evidence-backed support for child-led learning.
