I've had something similar happen. I noticed it at the checkout because I was only buying one item which I couldn't get elsewhere. It was on special offer and the price difference was significant.
I was asked to go right to the other, far, side of the shop to take a photo of the shelf price.
It was just before Christmas (not this year), the shop was jam-packed, and I am ancient and decrepit.
Long saga, but I complained and said surely the correct prices should be on whatever resource (?) is used at the till when products are scanned in.
I'd have to look back to see the exact outcome, but if memory serves Sainsbury's just gave some bland reply and said complaints weren't passed on to the store 😮
I know it's irrational, but they are everywhere.
No offence, but in many cases it seems a lazy (OK, sensible!) choice because they are evergreen, change with the seasons and are relatively low maintenance.
However it's become a running joke with my partner and daughter.
At least Photinias don't drop their leaves, though!
