Warning to all nhs staff

Just had a msg warning staff not to wear their nhs ID In public.

Apparently staff are being robbed for these passes at knifepoint due to the discounts.

Staff must carry their passes with them incase (when) we go on lockdown.

Obviously I couldn't say for sure but there are a lot of rumours going around about this that are unsubstantiated. The Met Police have not received any reports of this happening. The accounts on the internet are based on "a friend of a friend" and "I heard that someone...." type scenarios.

Of course be cautious but also keep in mind there are huge amounts of anxiety driven rumours being shared about all sorts of things right now.

Unless Met Police or other credible source confirms otherwise......

Not wearing your work ID in public should be a general security measure anyway I'd think - invites social engineering

I used to wear my ID badge under my jumper and pulled it our when needed.

Better safe than sorry I say.....

Your assertion might have some credibility if you were to identify the source. Usage of the word "apparently" is suggestive of a rumour which is being propagated even further.
