As promised we have been working hard to bring the magic and creativity of Nimble Arts directly into your home while we're all in lockdown. And today we're opening sign up for our Nimble Adventurers Creative Virtual Holiday Club for 4-11's from 6th - 17th April! The registration fee is only ?20 per family (not on Magic Booking but via a sign up form - see below!) - have a watch of the introductory video to see what it's all about:

The daily adventures are designed around a narrative that will come to life the more parents and carers play along - you can go really big here throwing yourself into the missions each day, or help your children get set up with what they need and then escape for a little time just sitting and staring...! We haven't differentiated the adventures by age - again this is something you can bring to life for a 4 year old, 8 year old, 10 year old - whoever you've got! They can meet the challenges at their own level. They'll have an online 'class' on a system called Class Dojo to join (with you managing the login) where they can post everything they've made and get live feedback with children their age.

We'd recommend a daily timetable of:

10.00 - 10.15 Crack the code sent each morning on Class Dojo (you'll get a login for this when you sign up) and read through the daily tasks

10.15 - 11.15 Task 1

11.15 - 11.45 Break

11.45 - 12.45 Task 2

12.45 - 1.30 Lunch

1.30 - 2.30 Task 3

2.30 - 3.00 Break

3.00 - 4.00 Task 4

Then at 4pm children will receive a message on the success of their mission! If you're ready to sign up visit: https://www.nimblearts.co.uk/nimble-adventurers-live ... and then await further instructions and a top secret message from Professor Nimblino!

We really look forward to you joining us and sending all best wishes for a healthy and happy few weeks!

Not sure if you can still sign up but this is a great way of supporting a business in the area that cannot run owing to the situation with Coronavirus - I've had a peek at day 1 and it is full of fun stuff, from making a rocket booster pack and disguise to writing and recording your own little rascal rap :)

    • I'd be tempted to put up some sort of fence  to delineate the area and see what happens. Probably nothing.
    • Poundland have been there just over two years.
    • Has anybody here bought some land from the council to become part of their garden? There are helpful guidelines on the Southwark website here including a PDF with associated costs, however the "valuation" element has absolutely no guidelines. It could be £500 or £50,000. You will already have spent £1000 on the process before finding out what they will charge you for the land - which would certainly be frustrating if it's not affordable for you. The land in question is a tiny patch immediately attached to the front of my property, approx 4 meters wide x 1 meter long. Would like to put a fence there to separate from the pavement and allow some privacy, keep the bins more tidy. The land is of no value to anybody else and is neglected currently - the council seems to have to stopped maintaining this area between the pavement and the houses on our street.
    • I suppose wind could have blown rubbish out of bins down into the pond. But I also counted three footballs and some smaller balls. Regrettably, there is also what seems to be a large dead carp or waterfowl, hard to tell at distance. I just hope the water quality is okay. I am not clear to what extent the pond is managed.
