That is a very old one. Ignore it. Your internet and landline will not be cut off.

Foxy.

Sorry Lynne

My fault I reported you for sending "those" pictures to me 😱

I've been involved in yet another accident ,careless me, and had great fun asking the real person at the other end "are you my mummy?" (Echos of doctor who came to mind) followed by "can you tell me where I left my toy car?"

Strangely they hung up .. most disappointed in the resilience and perseverance of these people

Funny that. I hadn't had a nuisance call for months until last week and so was caught off guard. "when you get home tonight have a long hard think about why you are encouraging people to commit fraud". I think that was one of my better answers. In the office once I said I'd put it on speaker phone so we could all here, but they hung up immediately.

This week I have had six virgin media router faults can they connect to my pc, one Amazon for an account owned by Cynthia, one EE we have a problem with your payment. That was a text and I later realised EE do send text?s but it?s always from 150 not another mobile number.

The EE one was problematic as I was concentrating on it whilst driving and went through a twenty mile an hour speed trap at 22 (on the speedometer so it was probably lower) and got flashed at. This was Sydenham Hill but will probably get three points and ?100.00 fine way out of proportion for the misdemeanour. I no longer find them funny.

One today saying that I had made a purchase of ?600 with my visa card!

Son in law's reply to the 'accident' scams is to say - i am glad you called, my Porshe was a complete right off and I suffered 2 broken legs, a spinal injury and broken hand., I was only grateful it was not the Rolls Royce that had been hit! The caller always puts phone down.

I'm now getting the next iteration of the Amazon prime renewal calls

It goes "You have spent ?399 pounds on your amazon order and your purchase will be dispatched soon. If you did not make this purchase press 1 to cancel."

Really can't wait to see what I bought, hoping it's at least something useful or frivolous like a drum kit so next time a spammer calla I can play my drums down the phone to them.😱

Brilliant

An hour ago my bank contacted me to say that there has been an attempt to withdraw money from my account on a new device.

On their instructions I transferred to a new account (I'm overdrawn so that's going to be interesting)

Half an hour later HMRC called as I owe them unpaid taxes, I gave them my new account details to do a direct debit from.

Curious to see if robbing scammer one to pay scammer two will work

..

for information I didn't really fall for it and no actual details were given out.

    • A quick update - my InPost parcels are being accepted sporadically at Barry's, but only one at a time and every few days, after many refusals - one was refused SEVEN times over about ten days - and several phone calls. As a comparison, I had a message from Yodel that a parcel that was going to Barry's is being delivered to another nearby store, which is interesting...
    • The "Community Benefits" are documented on P12-16 of the Consultation Document. Basically unsubstantiated estimates that it benefits local businesses, claims that it provides "opportunities" for local food traders, businesses & people (the term "opportunities" being meaningless - I have opportunities to win the lottery) without any details, facts or figures, and discounted tickets for local residents (which unsurprisingly seldom sell out). The only direct financial benefit to the Park is a £1000 "Biodiversity Fund" and an undisclosed amount for an "Environmental Impact Fee" - looking at how it was spent this year (flower beds in the playground & Sexby garden) I suspect it would be a similarly small figure. The actual site hire fee - claimed as "commercially sensitive" and therefore undisclosed - is spent on: • Funding the council’s free events programme and Cultural Celebrations Fund • Subsidised fees for community events in the borough • Off-setting the running costs of the Events service, which supports the delivery of the free community events programme  Again, no details given, just vague concepts - can anyone name any of these free & subsidised community events? Or what the "Cultural Celebrations Fund" is or does? It doesn't really sound like any of it is worth  the disturbance, restrictions, noise, litter, environmental damage and negative impact on wildlife in our Park.
    • The organisers must have spent a fortune on the display..imagine how p**s*d off they must have been!!!! Blink and you missed it kind of thing
    • We also recommend Aaron.  Very reliable, reasonably priced and did a fantastic job on our hallway and bedroom ceiling.  A pleasure to work with and left the house very tidy at the end of the job.  Thank you
