It now says

You can leave your home for medical need. If you (or a person in your care) have a specific health condition that requires you to leave the home to maintain your health - including if that involves travel beyond your local area - then you can do so. This could, for example, include where individuals with learning disabilities or autism require specific exercise in an open space two or three times each day - ideally in line with a care plan agreed with a medical professional.

Lambeth Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Team (based at SLAM) are providing these letters. I don't know if Southwark has an equivalent. Follows threat of legal action.

I agree. But to be fair to government, things have moved so fast that developing policy that takes consideration of all the different impacts is an impossible task. This is why things change daily following the flagging of issues by various professional bodies. For example, social workers are starting to raise concerns about children at risk, that they can not visit and whom are not being send to the school options open to them. The last place you want a child at risk to be, is in the home for 24 hours a day. The same is true of those in care homes that do not understand what is happening and why relatives can not visit. All of these things are challenges.

    • Hello, does anyone have a spare stair gate I could borrow for a few days while a friend visits with her toddler?
    • Shame, that's a bit boring. At least the Poundland fulfilled the need of cheap basic toiletries.
    • Andy Burke Plumber  December 2025 Andy was recommended and I'm so glad he was! I generally don't like inviting strangers into my home for any reason really but when you have a repair you have no choice. Andy is a kind, very pleasant  decent guy. But most of all he's, trustworthy, very knowledgeable and extremely conscientious about his work! He wants to solve the problem for you and keep the customer happy. He was very kind to work around my schedule to sort my repairs. I live alone and I'm very comfortable in his company. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. He's what you want in a tradesman. Someone who's decentand really talented. I'm so glad I crossed paths with him. Andy goes the extra mile to resolve your issue. Don't think twice, just book him!! 07983 688451
    • I walked by Honest Burger around lunchtime today and they had just opened. They haven’t publicly promoted the opening yet because they were focusing on the building work, but the guy I spoke to was really friendly.  They’re giving away free lemonade as an opening promotion and mentioned that residents should download their app because they can get a free meal after buying a certain number of meals.  Sounds like they also do takeaway as well. I told him that Honest had been trending on the EDF, so I would post about today’s opening.
