Help! with documents on Pc..can't open

hi, can anyone help me? my document folder on my PC with my word, and pictures etc..won't open...it just flashes across the screen..and then flashes back...any distant advice or help very very welcome!

Turn the machine completely off - choose shut down. Disconnect it from the power source. Leave it for 30 mins. Restart it and see if your problem has resolved itself.
