My son starts Goodrich pre-school in September and I had ordered sweatshirts from reception but never heard back from them before the school closed for holidays! I've found online sites that sell the sweatshirts with Goodrich logo but their delivery would not arrive until after the start of term. Is there a uniform shop locally which sells the sweatshirts/hoodies? Also could anyone tell me if the boys trousers should be dark or light grey? I assume a couple of pairs/2 polo shirts/2 jumpers is sufficient for a child doing half day weeks?

Thanks!

Hi there

Don't worry too much if he has to start the term without the tops, chances are it will be warm and he will just need polo shirts anyway (fingers crossed!). Alternatively you could just buy one of the cheap generic royal blue sweatshirts from Sainsburys.

Trousers are the standard dark grey that you will see in supermarkets - when my son was in nursery I had a couple of pairs of pleat front trousers and also a pair of grey trackie bottoms which were fine.

How much you need depends on your child. My son was fine with two of everything as steered clear of messy play. Daughter came home pretty much every day wearing spare clothes from nursery due to paint/sand/mud.

    • Thanks penguin  always wondered about that place and that’s way more info than I ever thought I would get  (used to live above a gun nut on friern road - he would tell me nothing)
    • There was a Saturday afternoon crowd of enthusiasts, and at other times the owner might have been off acquiring stock. He also repaired air guns, which he also sold. He stocked edged weapons, uniforms, including antique uniforms, air guns and ammo and starting pistols and shot. Some medals and other militaria. Quite a lot of ex service chit chat on a Saturday. I had an amateur interest, didn't deal a lot, in English pattern swords and other mainly 19th century militaria. And made some good purchases there. I'm afraid WWII and later events was the major focus of most of the regulars.
    • Did anyone actually venture in to that place? I recall it always being closed/very uninviting!
