Help!!!

I am a bridesmaid for a friend's wedding this coming Saturday 1st September.

I bought my dress about 3 months ago and arranged with a tailors in Bromley to have it altered. I picked up the dress this weekend and discovered that they have taken too much out of the back and I'm no longer able to wear it (just to be clear this isn't because I have been eating too many pies - my measurements have remained the same!).

I now need to get the dress re-altered if possible by Wednesday night as I have to leave for the wedding on Thursday morning.

I therefore have a bit of a predicament. I have bought another 2 dresses in different sizes so that I now have 3 options which I would appreciate advice on:

1 - Try to get the dress that has already been altered sorted out, so that the zip actually functions

2 - I have bought a smaller size dress which does fit, but it is a little bit tight, and I wondered if someone would be able to alter this slightly.

3 - I have bought the same size dress that I originally bought (pre-alteration) and this could therefore be altered again from scratch.

If anyone can help or suggest anyone who I can contact, it would be really appreciated.

Many thanks,

Nicky

It might be possible to loosen the fit by adjusting the seams assuming that your tailor have left enough fabric. Replacing the zip is also an option.

I can see no reason why not.

I'd recommend these people http://www.jamesoflondon-tailoredsuits.co.uk/alterations . They are highly regarded.

    • Well, they're back today. Something must have spooked them yesterday. And yes, like Angelina, my pigeons are also well turned out. They all wear the same uniform. I think they may be stock doves. As well as Mr and Mrs Woodpigeon I also get the collared doves.
