Is there going to be any decent competition for the Hoopers Pub Quiz tonight?

Make sure you post here when you're going and I'll try and get my team there. We are the Hoopers International Quiz Champions 2 times running which sounds about comparable :)

I'm afraid to say we won again - a few more teams this time so the winnings are mounting up. I'll keep posting here until some quizmasters turn up and we get beat...

Will post the next date we will be turning up shortly...

That must be in some esoteric Kabaalah-type legend - don't appear in the authorised versions as far as I recall.

I'm always up for joining a team though my sporting knowledge is pretty poor.

Ha ha ha we pissed all over the spick and micks and came second with a team of just two. If we'd fielded a full-strength team we'd have coasted to victory. But with a full strength team (at least 4) the pot wouldn't be big enough to justify turning up. Plus it would be too easy to win so we'll be back only should morale drop at any point in future and we need a win to pick us up.

Owner Jamie's a nice chap though isn't he?

On to the Plough quiz next week. Anyone been to that and know if it's any good and what prize (which we will win) is likely to be?

    • I'm guessing that most people with pets would not bring either the pets or fireworks into their day to day conversations, to complain or otherwise. Are you suggesting that only "timid" pets are scared by fireworks? What evidence do you have for that, exactly?  Or are you equating being scared of fireworks with being "timid"? And what about the foxes and other wildlife? Is it ok for them to be scared? Firework noise is not a noise that "comes with normal city living" ! What a very strange thing to say! Are you one of the people who have been constantly letting off fireworks recently? I'm assuming you don't have any pets yourself, or you wouldn't have these opinions, but if you do have pets, please share how they react when they hear loud bangs. Unless they are goldfish, in which case you probably wouldn't be able to tell.
    • Well, I know a lot of people in London with pets and I've never heard any of them complain about fireworks.  Maybe what's not ok is keeping timid animals in a metropolis when they are scared of the noises that come with normal city living.
