Hi Snowboarder

Pollenca and Port de Pollenca are brilliant. I am very biaised as we bought a place there last year, but I can honestly say this area is the most fantastic place for young families. Beautiful safe beaches, family friendly eateries, short flight, fabulous scenery and Pollenca itself is a stunning medieval town. We met families we knew on the flights out and back this summer - everyone loves this area. I am not trying to flog you our villa (its fully booked to early Oct), but if you look at my website you will see more details about the area. www.villapascali.com.

Best of luck

How strange - we're heading off there on Sunday! We went while I was pg and remember thinking it would be fab fir kids as the beaches were all amazing and loads of kids playing on the beach at night while parents eat. Not sure how old your kids are but would recommend the caves and palms well worth a visit too. There's a lovely old train which ru z from Palma to soller. Beautiful walks round tramentura(?) area too.

So

I was just about to recommend a trip to Soller too. I love Mallorca, although have never visited Pollenca, but if you were looking for a short excursion, I would recommend driving down to Soller (lovely old town, slightly inland) and then getting on the tram from there to Port de Soller, which is the seafront. The tram is wooden and open-sided and trundles down through what look like people's back gardens, some orange groves and then along the seafront once it reaches the coast. We enjoyed it pre-kids, but I think kids of any age would be enthralled. There's some more info here - hope this link works:

We went in June with our two girls, they enjoyed all the nearby beaches: the pine walk beach area of port de pollenca, the beaches on the formentor peninsula, cala st vicente. We also visited lluc monastery which was lovely, with a beautiful walk through the botanical gardens. Enjoy. Cannot wait to go back!

Ooh yes we went there in June, it's beautiful and perfect for kids. On our last night we caught a little show on the main square for kids, characters dressed up on stilts etc and ended in a little parade. I think it was on every night, around 8pm, definitely worth checking out!

The restaurants are all very child friendly which was convenient as we have a very active 18 month old! Best tapas we had was one of the restaurants on pine walk which runs along the beach, I forget the name but they also did ice cream outside, the last restaurant on the left if you're looking at the beach.

Also nice cocktails at a bar which juts into the water, think it was part of hotel Bahia, we managed to have a whole one each in quite a civilised manner before LO got bored and it was time to move on!

Enjoy!

Snowboarder, in Porta Pollenca I'd recommend La Llonga restaurant which is just before the yacht club.

If you've got a car book Es Guix in the mountains - restaurant with fabulous mountain pool - spring water - cold/refreshing! Book & ask about suckling pig in advance - Sundays or Mondays only I think. Well worth the drive up thru the mountains.

We went round the island on the boat this year so tried lots if new restaurants in various ports, they were all great!

Oh, Stay restaurant on the front in PP also amazing food & service, if facing the sea it's to the right of the yacht club/harbour about 5-10 minutes walk.

Xx

    • Hallo As far as I know  info you have quoted is wrong.  You can phone for an appointment although I have always found it easier to do online. Go to their website for info on how to book appointments Any requests I have made have been reviewed and answered by a GP within 4 hours
    • Nadia did a great job tidying up my very very overgrown yard. (See the before and after photos). I live in New Zealand and my tenants said a neighbour has been complaining about the out of control ivy. Nadia was easy to contact so over WhatsApp, managed to liaise between me and my tenants. Her quote was reasonable for the amount of work that needed doing, and the end result is great! She sent photos throughout so I could track progress. Would highly recommend her to others.
    • My car was stolen a few months back from my driveway but I had a tracker and found it in a private car park in Lavender Hill close to the police station. I was lucky. The thieves hide it up against that eventuality. High spec cars are targeted I'm afraid. The way it was stolen required the thieves to wire in their own computer accessing a front light (which had had a metal sheet welded across which they prised off). They had searched for a tracker but not found it. They also had to cut away a steering wheel lock. They had to come well tooled up and briefed to do what they did. Beating them off is non trivial. As I said, them not finding my tracker was just lucky.
    • Been with The Gardens now for around 30 years and very rarely do I have a problem. I went in to collect a form and mentioned that my leg was hurting and hot- was seen immediately by the Practice nurse who then arranged an appointment on the Saturday with the Extra care service at TJ Centre where I saw a doctor, who then sent me off to Kings for further tests.. I recently booked a flu jab but appointment is in 2 weeks.
