UCL student - survey on feelings towards using public transport during and post Covid

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am a Masters student at University College London and am currently undertaking research for my dissertation into people's feelings towards using public transport in London during the Covid-19 pandemic. I am contacting a number of community organisations across London as i am trying to get a diverse range of views to enable me to undertake analysis on the impacts short and long-term in how people travel. To do this i have developed an online survey which should take no more than 5 minutes to complete. The survey does not ask for anyone's name, contact details or email addresses. It is designed to be anonymous, but enable me to get different viewpoints. If you or anyone in your community could spare 5 minutes to complete this i'd be very grateful.

The survey can be found here: https://forms.gle/Qy1kJqoDu4zxCZNp6

Many thanks,

Nick

Nick, I looked at this but stopped on first page when you asked for year of birth and salary level as required answeresa. Too much personal data to be putting in Google Docs for an anonymous person.

At the very least you should be putting your name, mayeb supervisor;s name and contact details so we can verify you are who you say you are.

Does UCL have guidelines for this sort of survey and any sort of reassurance about privacy, GDPR etc?

I agree with previous posters. Just for info, when I?m asked for this type of information without the option of ?prefer not to say? I tend to lie. I did go a bit further as I was curious and have the following comments:

* hard to pinpoint a ?primary? form of transport

* a don?t know or undecided option would be useful

I found it impossible to answer questions regarding behaviour for when pandemic is over - who knows?

I'd go a bit further than that and say you are collecting and processing personal data (salary and age bracket is personal data) without clearly setting out the purposes for which you will use it or how long you will retain the data for. Appreciate you're not asking for names but that doesn't obviate the need to manage data collected in the UK in accordance with the DPA2018.

Out of curiosity - are you the same Nick Milford that is currently employed by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy? I'm assuming not, as he finished his MSC at UCL a few months ago, but some clarification and assurance around that would be appreciated.

Edited for spelling.

    • Another recommendation for James - he helped us move house at short notice. He has a very big Luton van and he kindly helped us load and unload the van and was lovely to chat to for the hour long journey.
    • We used Joseph to move house and he was very communicative, punctual and was lovely to chat to during the journey! He was very patient when we arrived and the previous occupiers were still moving out, which was hugely appreciated! Would highly recommend.
    • Another glowing recommendation for Keith. We’re incredibly grateful to EDF for helping us find Keith - I had lots of other quotes from companies who were upselling the work we needed, whereas Keith was very friendly, honest, knowledgeable and competitively priced.  He was incredibly communicative through the whole job and carefully thought through his approach. He did lime mortar repointing along with some brick and masonry repairs, and did everything to a very high standard. We could absolutely trust his advice. He’s lovely to chat to and very respectful of neighbours, clearly communicating when there would be noise or mess. He organised the scaffolding company who were also excellent (Reliable Scaffolding). They worked around limited parking and were prompt to take down the scaffolding once the work was finished. The scaffolding was also much cheaper than other quotes.  Couldn’t recommend Keith enough, it’s a pleasure to have him working on the house and we already have him booked in to do another job for us.
    • If you mean the joinery firm that made windows and doors, it closed down several years ago and a private house was built on the site.
