Brittany holiday cottage summer 2020

Recommended Posts

Following the lifting of quarantine this is now available from the 20th of July for the rest of the summer and into Autumn. A few on this forum have stayed in the past but all was put on hold in March. Should I get a bit of interest there will be a minimum of three days between guests for obvious hygiene reasons. Listing below as before:

Our lovely holiday cottage in rural Brittany is available for others to enjoy! A taster below, PM me for pictures and full details. Very family friendly but suitable for couples and groups too. ?170 a week which helps towards expenses.

1870 stone cottage near to Huelgoat in North Finistere. 40mins from coasts, 5 mins from town and village. Wild and less wild walks, cycling, wildlife, cultural stuff, smaller theme parks, tree top adventure and plenty of other activities. A gentle nine hole golf course.

Comfortably sleeps six, potentially more, could take two families at a push. 1/2 an acre of land. Not a five star villa with swimming pool put a holiday home we've had for 17 years and have used countless times. Double bedroom above kitchen and double four poster, bunks and spare single bed in large mezzanine room. Bed settee downstairs and glamping in the barn! Bedding, bikes, games, canoe and other stuff provided.

Ideal if you like the outdoor life, star gazing, a bit of privacy and want to avoid the masses. If you want five star luxury this isn't for you. I ask for a modest fee which helps cover expenses.

Minimum of a week but this can be done midweek to midweek to save on ferry costs and I am pretty flexible. Can do by train but would need transport in the area or enjoy walking!

Good phone signal, free wifi in local bars and hotspots depending on your mobile provider. Cottage does not have broadband and hopefully you can live without that in a rural retreat....

Please do not contact me if you don't have the decency to get back to me - as you can tell it is rather annoying when I get enquiries and don't hear back. You know who your are and expect some bad karma!

    • Happy to name agent and do understand that there are procedures to complain. I believe that it starts with a complaint to the estate agent and then you can go to the ombudsman. I am very unhopeful that this will achieve anything as it will be hard to prove what the intention of the agent was.  Also I don't want to name the agent at this stage so as not to open up myself to any legal issues. However it is an agent in the Village whish has many branches across London
    • Naming the agent isn't going to help in this case, this is down to the morals (lack of) of the buyer. I think it's always best, esp in a buyer's market, to keep details such as 'you're keen/ need to sell' to one's self, otherwise you're just giving the buyer leverage to pull a stunt like this...
    • I have tickets for tomorrow.  I'm off to do a rain dance.
