Hi,

I would like to thank all the forum users for recommendation of Robert Kaczanowski @ Aqua-Build.

We found Aqua-Build Kitchens after doing research on Eeast Dulwich Forum. Robert came round to see us the day we contacted him, he has a friendly easy manner and we liked him straight away. We had an idea of what we wanted after doing the usual rounds of the big supplier. We have a very small kitchen, and Robert was able to give us some ideas that would suit a small area. He emailed us back later that evening with an initial quote, and pictures of similar kitchens he had installed. When we asked him to go ahead, he gave us a start date and stuck to it. Nothing was too much trouble, and he made the few minor changes we wanted willingly, and even did the extra plastering we needed. Robert supplied and fitted our new kitchen and bathroom blinds and recommended a roofing specialist to us.

We now have the beautiful, modern kitchen that we have always wanted and we love it - Thanks Robert. We would recommend Aqua-Build kitchens to anyone looking for their dream kitchen.

Just wanted to add that we also had a great kitchen experience with Robert at Aqua-Build and his team. They're very trustworthy, friendly, polite and reliable - Robert always went the extra mile to provide good service, accommodating all the small changes we made along the way and making good suggestions to improve our plans. Since doing our kitchen, we've asked him to come back and do other jobs and had the same good experience.

I'd highly recommend him!

I want to add recommendation for Robert. He did bathroom for us 7 years ago, and it's still in perfect shape. We invited him to quote for large kitchen project, which is now completed by Robert and his team. If you are looking for professional kitchen/bathroom fitter call him. He and his colleagues are the best we ever had for building work.

Thanks Rob,

All the best,

Robert and his team recently installed our bathroom and we continue to be delighted with the results. My husband is an architect (designs resort hotels) so he had very specific ideas of what he wanted. Robert and his team implemented the design perfectly addressing a number of challenges that an old house presents (uneven floors, uneven walls, maze of pipes) whilst incorporating some new concepts that my husband requested (installing a floor to ceiling 2.5m door, recessed lighting, mirror demisters, textured tiles approx 1 meter in length). The end result is spectacular and my family and I feel like we have a spa like experience every day.

All our interactions with Robert and his team were very professional. They started the work on the day agreed and were always at the house at 8am each day. They made good progress and throughout the work Robert kept in regular contact. The team cleaned up each day which was a big contrast from our experience with other builders. We were so impressed with the quality of work, we asked Robert and his team to undertake some additional work (replastering and rewiring a couple of the bedrooms and replacement of a bedroom ceiling).

I would highly recommend Robert and his team for building work, they are reliable, efficient and the work is of a high quality. We will certainly be getting in touch with Robert again when we start the next phase of our home rennovation.

I agree with dulwichquine, I had a terrible experience which cost me thousands to correct. Although I'm happy other people had a good experience, I would NEVER use Robert or anyone from his team. This isnt just my perspective but i had to get proffessional advice from other builders on how to rectify aqua builds work. Please contact directly if your require further information.

Today, Robert and his team finished my kitchen in Herne Hill. They were on site for around two weeks as the whole kitchen had to be removed, and we basically started again from scratch, with Howdens' cabinets and all new appliances, flooring, tiles, lights - everything.

I have been so blown away by the work they have done. It is seriously top class. Various friends and family, and neighbours, have dropped in to have a look and they have been extremely impressed, and all want a new kitchen just like mine!

What makes Robert and his team so fantastic is a combination of:

- excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail (tiling, electricals, everything is so neat)

- 'can-do', professional attitude, and flexibility

- great communication (daily updates, immediate responses to calls and texts).

They worked in a tight space, respected the fact that they couldn't have the street door open much (because of our pets), and were a pleasure to deal with. They knew rubbish had to be removed quickly from the pavement and stayed for literally hours one evening waiting for the waste contractor.

The costs were very reasonable and I was kept up to date throughout with any additional costs (I changed my mind half way through and wanted a pull-out bin - for example).

I would not hesitate to recommend Robert and Aqua Build. Please PM me and I would gladly speak with you and/or send some photos. I think these guys are setting a standard.

Hello. I am having a terrible time with Aqua Build. Late, lazy and incredibly shoddy work. In the last ten day's he's had ?2600.00. He's probably done about 40 hours work and most of that will have to be done. On the verge of sacking him and holding his tools until he refunds. How similar was your experience. Jeremy.

    • When I had a property with a basement there would often be a pool of water in the centre. I was told it was related to the fluctuating height of the water table in the area (se22) and would not become a problem and the only way to get rid of it would be to get the whole place completely tanked.
    • We've got a Victorian coal hole cellar with a mud floor and after a couple of severe water leaks, I've taken more of an interest in the state of the dampness.  I've been running a dehumidifier for the past couple of weeks following a small water pipe leak and whilst most of the floor is now bone dry, there are damp patches along most of the wall adjoining the next house, a large damp patch in the middle of the floor that will not dry even with the dehumidifier right next to it and a patch of wet mud in a small hollow in the middle of the cellar.  An expert that lent us industrial drying equipment following a flood from a burst mains pipe said there will always be damp, but I'm a bit concerned in case there is a fundamental problem - any ideas from anyone with similar?
