Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am a student studying furniture making. I am offering handyman services around the area at reasonable rates to fund my studies and to gain further experience.

Small jobs are ideal, building shelves, fitting kitchen units, building flat pack furniture, laying flooring, small bespoke jobs, putting up picture frames, mirrors, tv's, painting and decorating and any other minor jobs.

I am a qualified mechanical engineer and also have a vocational C&G qualification in furniture Level2.

I can provide references if required and photos of some previous work.

Please PM me or call 07825 442 888

Thanks,

Frank

I would like to recommend Frank. He fitted me in at relatively short notice and I was very pleased with the work he has done. He secured our ageing bannister by reinforcing it in a number of areas, making it safe, re-attached 2 door knobs (that we have tried and failed to do), and put up 3 pictures.

I was impressed with his punctuality and liked the fact that he confirmed he was coming by text an hour before he was due to arrive. He was polite and very patient with indecision on picture placement!

I have a few other pictures to be hung when they are framed and will definately call him again.

Hi. I would also like to recommend Frank (07825 442 888). He put right a very complicated (for me, a DYI idiot) cat flap installation I attempted (and failed at), did a quick repair on a water pipe and even climbed up onto the roof to retrieve a tea towel that got caught in the guttering (long story) and which could have blocked the gutters. He is punctual, polite, has all his own tools and knows what he's doing. Satisfied customer here. -Michael

I would also highly recommend Frank, who has just fitted a cabinet around my new boiler, which was a tricky job in many respects. He is the loveliest guy, and was thoughtful, hard working and capable. He also managed to do the job by re-using various bits of wood and fittings we had (which was great for the planet and my budget!). I'm really happy with what he's done, which looks great and was made with care. Definitely recommended.

Hello,

I'd like to recommend Frank as well. We needed some doorknobs fixed in our house which he sorted out very quickly - drilling into metal in a couple of instances and even going out to get a part required. He was really nice and very reasonably priced. Will absolutely use his services again!

    • I'm glad that Barry's have posted.  Their mention of the merger soon led me to (a) bushy-tailed  PR guff about the new member joining the inpost 'family' and promising a bright happy world of lockers etc ahead. and (b) clear signs that the same problems related here seem to have been current and widespread even three months ago.  That's just from looking at one thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/vinted/comments/1nlv3u2/yodelinpost_merger_issues/
    • @first mate not aware of any either. Found this relating to 23-24..  https://services.southwark.gov.uk/southwark-creates/funding/cultural-celebrations-fund?chapter=4
    • Do we still get 50+ outdoor community events per year? All the ones round here seem to have been cancelled, like the Christmas Cracker and the summer equivalent and the Small Business Saturday event etc.  Even on the Southwark Presents page the only events in East Dulwich in the foreseeable future are non-council events organised by other people. https://www.southwark.gov.uk/southwark-presents?event_price=All&localgov_event_locality[0]=239&date_min=&date_max=&search=&page=2
    • @CPR DaveWe are talking about Lambeth Council, not Southwark, but I agree. It will be interesting to see if Lambeth fill part of that space with another hire out to a private events company.  As to the idea that what is gained financially from hiring out Peckham Rye Park is a good trade off, does not account for long-term damage to the park and the loss of access to the community for a month at least, in the best summer months where trees and shrubs are in full bloom and animals are birthing or rearing youngsters. For the Council to claim they are 'green' when they allow this is hypocrisy at its finest. @Northern Star Thanks, so they say. I'd love to see a list of these high quality free events and what they entail. I am not aware of any high quality free events in and around ED. Stand to be corrected though. Crikey, seems like they cannot even let Lordship Lane have Christmas lights this year.
