How have people been finding Virgin Media yesterday and today (Wednesday 5 Aug)?

I've been having spotty access with it going up and down regularly.

I'm at the Goose Green end of Lordship Lane.

Nobody else here has said anything about having issues, so I'm not sure if it's VM or our own setup.

Of course, the VM site says there's nothing wrong, but it practically always says that even when it's clearly down.

I'd recommend you switch providers. We had terrible service from Virgin Media for years ??connection frequently hanging or cutting out completely, and unhelpful customer service. They always gave the same response when queried: "We are working on improving the connection issues in your area". Since switching providers a couple of years ago we've had no problems at all (apart from when a neighbour's cat trespassed into our house and pee'd on the modem, but that wasn't the provider's fault!).

    • That explains why no-one was there when I went yesterday. Something else to complain about this evening then, and given that at least one adjacent ward is having their Labour Party branch AGM this evening (the one Renata Hamvas belongs to), may well be raised in passing conversation there😉 .
    • Why do the street  tree people turn up on the day they are going to actually do  work on a tree, say they need to park their large  vehicle in three adjacent free car spaces, and then expect to be able to immediately find the owners of every nearby car??? And then if they do by luck manage to find one, expect them to move their car somewhere else even though every other space  in the road is taken? And even if that would  leave only one car space, which they can't actually use anyway because they can't find the owners of the other two cars parked next to it? Is it beyond the wit of the tree department to put a communication through the door of nearby houses a week (say)  in advance asking them to save three  spaces on the day?  And even providing cones to do so? I hate to think how much time must be wasted on this. And now, the tree people have come back on another day and seem to be managing to do the work anyway even though there are still no parking spaces near the tree 🙄
