I'm very jealous :)

Whereabouts was the kingfisher? By a stream?

We have a few around at times..I keep a spare tin of dogs food in the cupboard and give them some BUT I understand milk can be VERY bad for them...also hope people just give a quick check before lighting bonfires as many get killed when sleeping in the twigs etc

we had a small hedgehog in the garden of our old place on tewkesbury lodge estate back in march (husband saw a much bigger one on liphook cresent the previous summer). Saw a couple of buzzards a few weeks back and always curious why there arent more birds of prey (buzzards etc) given the amount of vermin etc

Maybe they're finding better pickings elsewhere?

I had a bird of prey in my tiny garden a few years ago. It was actually quite scary because it was so large in relation to the size of the garden.

I used to get a load of starlings coming down to my bird feeders, and it had one in its claws. The poor starling was making the most terrible noise. I was going to go out and try to rescue the starling, but thought better of it when I realised what a large beak and claws might do to me, never mind the starling :))
