I went in there the other day and the fresh meat and cheese counter appears to have been removed. Does that mean it will not be a "Market Fresh" Scumerfield anymore???

The self-serve tillsaren't a teckie issue it seems - as when I go in there if the queues become excessive (ie longer than 8 per till) they do open them.

I reckon it's technology / user interaction that's the problem - otherwise known as a good excuse to shoplift!!

Elvis is in fact the Somerfield Home delivery van driver . I saw him in Sainsburys one day and he said he did his own shopping there........

I like Somerfield because I can walk there and I can walk home again (or Elvis delivers it for me). If I had more time (and money) I would swan around LL all day and shop local buying my bits and bobs and generally dispensing good cheer.

I still feel that Waitrose is for posh people so I don't shop there. Sad but true.

Polly - you can also buy fresh fish from Sea Cow - they just box it up for you. Not sure how it compares in price as I only buy fish occasionally from there.

This "too posh" stuff about Waitrose does make me laugh. It IS a bloody supermarket, not Fortnum & Mason or the Savoy Grill. If you mean it is too expensive, then say too expensive, but too posh??????????
