Are there any weekly (or monthly) planners out there clear enough (and appealing) for young children to follow maybe with a reward chart system build in? I could draw one up but rather it was something reusable

Trying to get the 6 year old to remember school events/activities and to practice voilin/piano/do homework etc.

Got the same problem. Bought a few bags of really nice beads from John Lewis and they can earn one for practice / reading / generally helpful around the house etc. When the jar is filled, there's the promise of a treat.....or could do when they get X number. The beads are really pretty so they like choosing. (Haven't worked out yet that the bigger ones fill the jar quicker - but sure they'll learn!!)

They know the concept of pebbles / pom-poms etc from school so it ties in well. And depending on how big the jar is, they can get rewards quickly or work towards something more major. Also has the benefit of being able to take away a bead if they don't play by the rules!!

I don't know about wall planners but what really works in our house for music practice is having a set time - 8:15am is a good time every day when our 7 year son will do his 15 min instrument practice (alternating each day between drum kit & keyboards). I've been really pleased with the result as I don't have to nag and he just accepts this as practice time.

    • How long is a piece of string?  Depends whether you are building 'new towns' or brown field urban sites. I expect developers, planners and builders know far more than we do.  Where are you getting your information about infrastructure from ?  Your comment on new reservoirs seems more relevant to population expansion and/or climate change.
    • There was a previous thread about them about 6 months ago. Since then, they have been found guilty and fined for illegal street trading and collections in June in the City of London. https://news.cityoflondon.gov.uk/we-r-blighty-pleads-guilty-of-illegal-street-trading-and-collections-in-the-city/
    • The Government has set an ambitios target to build 1.5 million new homes bu the end of this 4 year term. Possibly unachievable due to various issues in the building industry but ambitious none the less.  What they seem to have failed to plan for, which was brought home by this year's drought, is adding more inferstructure including Reservoirs, power lines and sewerage treatment centres.  Ate they setting us up for more problems in the future?
    • If you know the layout of the Chequers estate, it is clearly unfeasible and logistically complex to project images onto the facade of the main building. Unless you are the military or something.
