Closed because it's another traffic one - Admin

As a result of the recent LTN and permeable filters off Lordship Lane, the traffic has increased to unbearable levels. As a cyclist myself, I am all for the measures to encourage safe active travel, however, I think the approach that has been taken is far from equitable. It is simply not fair that residents of Lordship Lane are now forced to suffer from idling traffic at all hours of the day. Lordship Lane has always been dangerous for cyclists as vehicles frequently exceed the 20mph speed limit which is not enforced.

I am having difficulty understanding how this traffic will ever decrease, there are members of our society who rely on a motor vehicle for travel & as (almost) all of the roads into the Village are now closed, there are no alternative routes for this traffic to take.

Is there anything that can be done to campaign for a more fair approach to reducing pollution in the area? Lordship Lane seems to have been ignored in all of the proposals. This is bringing misery to the lives of residents and businesses, not to mention the children of Harris Academy Primary School on Lordship Lane.

By 'permeable filters off Lordship Lane' do you mean every road suddenly closed off by boulders and barriers to cars and motorcyclists?

Southwark must be wasting so much money with their signage. The green ones state obviously that the roads can be passed by pedestrians and cyclists.

One Dulwich is campaigning for a more equitable approach: https://www.onedulwich.uk/

This is the Southwark Streetspace Comments page. This is where the council is asking those (both in favour and against) to comment: https://eastdulwichstreetspace.commonplace.is/

It might also be worth writing to the following councillors:

    • Boil - it’s the customer’s fault, not the delivery person’s.
    • A bit of a long shot but I'm on the lookout for a portable pop-up counter or podium.   The kind you often see on a high street, used by charities or utility companies to advertise their wares.   I've included a photo to give you the idea. I'm a peckham-based artist and am looking for one for a free (and non-profit) community art project.  It can be in any workable condition and can already have signage on it as we will remove and redecorate ourselves.    Thanks in advance, Linzie
    • No I absolutely did not - that much is clear. Have you read the latest stories about Unite, Len and the hotel in Birmingham? The UK electorate were smart enough to reject a far-left party in 2019, let's hope they are smart enough to reject a far-right party at the next election too. If not we are all doomed.
    • I would also like to add my recommendation for James.  I had taken four names of electricians from the forum - in the order I had read the reviews.  First three no response - even days later. I phoned James this morning. He answered, gave me a time, stuck to it, messaged again 15 mins before arrival.  He fixed my problem on the spot.  Sensible charge out fee. Perfect service.
