Locked because it's another traffic post. Please don't start new ones -Admin

Yesterday (Friday the 18th) at about 5:40pm an Ambulance with blue lights flashing appeared at the Melbourne Grove/Grove Vale junction, but could not proceed because of the padlocked bollards - it had to do a 5 point turn and go back via East Dulwich Grove and Lordship Lane - it finally reappeared by ED station about 4 minutes later.

This situation could potentially cost somebody's life.

This is exactly why these planters and bollards need to be reviewed as a matter of actual emer(urgency).

If an ambulance driver doesn't know their way around the neighbourhood and drives down a street that doesn't lead where they think it does, then yes, they're going to have to chuck a uey.

When the closures are made permanent, it's easy enough the make the closures in a way that allows emergency vehicles to pass over them. See for example the proposed design for the top of Aynella at the Library.

Meanwhile emergency services were consulted before the schemes were approved.

This is nothing but opportunistic. Similar to FairTgirl on twitter blaming the increased traffic on Thursday on the planters. When in fact there had been a serious road traffic accident and all buses were on diversion.

Having been in an emergency ambulance a couple of times this year, they tend to use Sat Navs to get to destinations.

On one of my journeys the Sat Nav sent them down the back streets of ED and then back onto Lordship Lane. If they had known the route, could have got to the same area in less time by just turning right at a junction instead of turning left.

    • Highly recommend Greg from Raven Plumbing & Heating, who I found through this forum. He was immediately responsive, great communication and super speedy arrival time, even on a bank holiday! He diagnosed and fixed a leak in record time. Extremely friendly and professional, made me feel much better about a stressful situation - will definitely work with him again!
    • I think the thread title is a bit overdramatic there’s thousands of CICs in the UK.  Hopefully, I don’t sound naive when I say that sometimes this sort of set up is a way to reach hard to reach people without the bureaucracy of more formal organisations.
    • https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/14349080 Doesn't add much. No accounts. Possibly genuine. Possibly the hard-done-to veterans are themselves
    • We have a place and a date for the first (and hopefully not the last) reborn ED Forum drinks! We have booked tables at The Palmerston on Wednesday 11 June at 7pm, in the area by the window on the left as you come in. It would be very helpful to us (and particularly the pub) if you could PM us in good time if you intend to come, so that we are not reserving tables which won't be used. We will provide labels and pens  for those who would like to use them - definitely not compulsory! Any comments or queries, please post them here or PM me!
