Fire engine (toys)

Right I think I have figured out what my son wants for his second birthday... a fire engine with sound. There's lost of options online but the reviews tend to be pretty bad (usually toys are badly made).

Any recommendations of tried and tested toys? Suitable for a 2 year old but ideally something not too babyish

I bought a fantastic one from Just Williams toy shop when my son was 2. It was only ?6 or something like that, kept him amused for hours. Has sounds and flashing lights.

My son was given this as a hand me down from a friend and it's still going strong a few years on

Yup - I second the ELC one. It's fab. My son's had a few and that's the most robust/fun. (And daughter loved it too...)
