I have an appointment tomorrow arvo for my baby girl, but would really like to take the opportunity to talk to the doc about a non-serious dermatological issue my toddler has. Does anyone know if this is allowed? I don't want to drag him with us only to find out that there's some surgery policy about one patient per appointment or something?

Can anyone shed any light either way?

Thanks in advance!

There shouldn't be a problem with raising two issues in one appointment, but you'd only have a very short space of time in which to discuss both, and probably end up doing justice to neither.

Also, the doctor wouldn't be expecting to discuss your son and so wouldn't have his notes to hand and would need to call them up etc.

I'd suggest you book a double appointment - this is standard practice and the surgery should be able to accommodate you.

Phone up the surgery and ask what is the best way to approach this? The receptionist will know the best way to accommodate you rather than any of us.

That said as a rule of thumb GPs want to know who is coming in and have their notes handy.

We are at Melbourne Grove but whenever I have needed two consultations for kids or me and kids, I have let them know in advance and we have been given double appt.

An exchange of goods and services may be really helpful during these difficult times.    I wonder if it’s something that someone would be willing to set up separately and link to the forum? Or perhaps  an additional aspect of the forum itself if it was easy to include? I don’t have IT knowledge to set this up unfortunate, but I do have skills that I could offer. From past experience, it would probably work best as a direct exchange rather than coupon credit.    I may be flaunting the rules by posting on this twice, admin please feel free to delete one if this is the case.
