Apols if this has already been posted somewhere but I am on iPhone so hard to search. We are venturing out TorT ing this year and I vaguely remember seeing a post from last year about a road that reaaly goes all out, dressing up gardens and the like. Think it was friern road or nearby? Does anyone know? We want to do it on way home from The Hernes kids party so walking towards the library from there

Wowsers, that sounds good.

Are any trick or treatersout early? My 3 year old is obsessed with the idea. So I was wondering if anyone was welcoming small scary visitors anywhere near Sainsbury's Local-ish bit of the Lane.

We will have our pumpkin out for the first time this year if you're in need of treats...

I haven't seen many decorations on North Cross (apart from the wonderful shops, of course - some INCREDIBLE pumpkins in the window of ED), but I'll be looking out for dressed up visitors! Hope everyone that is out receives a warm welcome, and those of us indoors enjoy sharing our treats!

    • Ah sorry, it was comedy.
    • I have never used AI in my life. It's just notes from my forthcoming monograph on light industry in Dulwich and Camberwell 1879-1946 (dates chosen for obvious reasons).
    • Thank you, this really made me chuckle. It's like you met my brother as he would be the one taking more than his share. Plus the 'pikey' chutney is a winner. Unusual as in can't be identified??? Sadly I'm not the host otherwise I would definitely do that I regularly shop in the Cheese Block and am a fan. But as people have pointed out, there is no cheese shop that charges less based on bulk, so Aldi unusual cheeses may be what the familam receive! Yay, so I can get discounted mouse nibbled cheese still! Oooo, now I do love a Stinking Bishop. It actually offends my stepmum by it's stinkiness but luckily she is not one of the attendees at this particular gathering.  This is blooming genius. It's actually my partner who has the biggest issue with buying in plastic so I will have to hide the wrappers from him!
