Hello local shop owners

As you may know, nearby Forest Hill, Kirkdale and Sydenham recently won "Portas cash" to improve their high streets.

In the run up to Christmas, three "pop up" shops are been made ready for rent between 1 - 24 Decemeber, at the bargain price of ?200. There are also Christmas Market stalls available for ?25.

We really want nice local businesses, such as your own, to help bring our high street up to something like as nice as East Dulwich's - and we hope that pop up shops and market stalls might be a good way for you to take a low-risk trial punt in our 'hood.

I wish. We're getting a Sainsbury's soon. I think it's the best we can hope for until our shiny new pavements and street furniture are installed.

You may be thinking of "Pop Tarts" which in Waitrose are actually called "Glam Flans"

Or possibly "Pop-Up Tarts" whch was a short lived business venture on the Balls Pond Rd back in the 80s.
