Recommend a local small business? If so, say why...

With all the restrictions and limitations of Covid, I never feel more like taking action than when I shop in a small business and think...

" I SO want you to do well and survive this awful time"!!!

However, it's easy to recommend a place without providing much substance so I would like to suggest we do so but with details.

For that reason....

This teatime, I discovered *Deli Twenty Two on Forest Hill Road* [between the chemist and the post office]...a deli and cafe with outside seating.

Potato and caramelized onion frittata, a slice of kale and gorgonzola quiche, and a perfect lump of parmesan.

There are jars of lovely things, salamis, vegetables, exquisite flowers, pasta, unusual dried and canned ingredients, plus a delicious eat-in menu.

I'm going back for a cheese toastie and roasted tomato soup. The cafe food, and takeaway menu, is mouthwatering.

And Amy the owner is really nice.

So, lets put our small businesses out there and for why....GOOD LUCK everyone!!

Yeah, I wrote this post because I had walked past it a number of times and not noticed it being on my doorstep!

Now, I realise that I can order some lunch or supper to take away, plus some lovely special food, at the end of my road and also where there is parking on the street.

    • Hi  I really thought I'd seen a more recent post on the forum about home education meet ups. I can't find it though. • Thanks for your reply. I’ve subscribed to Ancestry a few times in the past but felt I wasn’t using it enough to warrant keeping up the subscription.
    • Hi, I saw your post and just wanted to say that the incident you’re referring to did happen in the late 1980s at Dawson’s Heights. The person involved was named Carl Salawa, and he had just turned 18 years old at the time. Like you, I haven’t been able to find any news articles or official reports about it, If anyone remembers anything more about that time or incident, I’d really appreciate hearing about it. Thanks for sharing what you were told—it means a lot to know others remember.
    • Was anyone else disturbed last night/early hours this morning by the party going on in someone’s garden on Crystal Palace road. Can’t see what house exactly but it’s around number 43 - 41… it was happening quite frequently last year. Seems it’s starting again! Very inconsiderate.
