This is entirely charming (and wholly mad and eccentric) and changes (grows) every time I visit. The owner/ artist is a wholly lovely man, and his vision compelling. There are bits I'm less fond of (dismembered dolls), bits I love and all enchants. The garden in spring and summer is a delight.

I mean he may he lives in his head, but he also, in a very real literal sense, lives in that house. Fair play, it's an incredible piece of work, but a challenging home one would imagine.

There is a video somewhere on youtube of them - so far its all downstairs and the upstairs is very different. They come across as such a lovely couple on the film, its an interesting clip.

Steve's wonderful house is absolutely worth a visit, when it's open. A visual feast, and moving stories behind the making of it. We are so lucky to have it in East Dulwich.

It's a shame that his fab mosaic floor at the front what was The Blue Mountain Cafe (then rock Steady Rum lounge) got covered up with a dark wooden floor on top....

Despite having seen that floor outside Blue Mountain 100s of times over the years I?d never made the connection, even though now it seems obvious. Hopefully at some point in the future it can be uncovered
