Free:- Art magazines offered- 'The Artist' etc

Recommended Posts

Update on original post - I'm now offering the final batches of my Dad's Art magazines in return for a donation to dementia UK or the Red Cross. If you know anyone who may like to have some for their personal use or for schools, art clubs etc please pass detail of this post on to them, thanks.

I still have some fairly recent issues and also ones from the 1980s - they are mostly 'The Artist' mag and 'Leisure painter' and also some 'Artist and Illustrators' and 'International Artist' mags.

These art magazines always have a variety or features on different topics for anyone interested in drawing and painting, whether amateur or professional. They have features on art projects and practical painting and drawing exercises designed to improve painting in watercolours, oils, acrylics and pastel techniques. Plus interviews with artists etc etc.

Here's an example of just a few of the magazines I've got:-

    • I imagine Franco Manca's business dropped off quite a bit when Yard Sale opened (though isn't Yard Sale delivery only?) But in any case, both of those are chains.
    • Thanks. I'll call them shortly as I could get there without the car.  That's good of Sainsburys! We've done the apple pie and tart thing, an ongoing muesli thing and the coleslaw thing - just not sure what effect all the sugars are having on our digestive tracts.  If we were in Somerset and had a press, I'd consider it. Can't be that diffcult, can it?
    • One time Sainsbury's delivered 6 bags of apples instead of 6 single apples which I couldn't possibly get through. I phoned Pecan in Peckham to ask if they would accept them despite their website stating no fresh foods. I must have phoned at just the right time as they were happy to accept them. Sainsburys gave me a refund so the donation was courtesy of them. Or you could experiment with all kinds of apple recipes and write a blog about it
    • There's a food bank off Dog Kennel Hill. Albrighton Community Fridge. https://www.albrightoncommunityfridge.org/ I'm sure they would welcome them, but maybe check first, as they don't actually mention fresh fruit on their website? But apples aren't that perishable. Drop off seven days a week 9 - 5. Be warned if you are going by car, parking can be very difficult, easiest if there are two of you so one person can take the food in while the other can move the car if necessary.
