I?ve read that the government will be providing some winter funding to support families and children.

The funding will be managed by councils. I?ve been volunteering at the Community Fridge at the Albrighton Centre in East Dulwich and the number of people using the Community Fridge has increased.

The Community Fridge has been running for a number of years and providing food to those in the community who need it and I believe would be a recipient of funding which can use the funding to provide food where it?s needed locally.

The Albrighton Centre is not something I?d come across before but they do great work and the Community Fridge is known and well used by those who will benefit from the Covid Winter Grant. You can find your local councillor on the council website and it would be great if you could contact them to suggest funding is given to the Albrighton Centre.

    • I have been reliably informed that it's not the same group.
    • my bet is it's the same group and no amount of talking to is going to make a difference.
    • Definitely not intended  to come across as "gleeful". Quite the opposite, because developments such as this will only encourage extreme right-wingers such as Reform. And heaven help us if they ever formed a government. It's incumbent on Labour to come up with an effective  policy to "smash the gangs" otherwise we are facing Farage and his gang further down the road.
    • It feels like it might be an extension of the summer water bombing spate. The sad thing is this could really put off some visiting the park. I really hope the council seriously consider putting some of their huge parking surplus to funding a serious and permanent warden and police presence in the park; it is needed.
