Where to donate new kids' books locally?

I have a load of brand-new kids' books (age 9+) I'd like to donate to a hospital, refuge or charity. I've just done some googling and it looks like the Maudsley is doing a Christmas gift appeal but just wanted to check there wasn't anywhere even more local?

I?m sure any of the local primary schools would be grateful. The Belham just asked parents for donations of used books.

That's interesting as I've offered to donate used but good condition children's books to various local schools over the years and been turned down as they only want new books. Does anyone have suggestions of where to donate recent but used (read once) adult books? I usually leave in a box outside with a "help yourself" note on a fine day, but would def donate to a hospital / library etc if any interest.

I?m not sure who you would contact but HMP Brixton will take adult books for the prison library(probably not Mills and Boon!). Or you could contact a prisoner literary group.

Oxfam have a good second hand book shop in Herne Hill. Worth a visit, book lovers.

Albrighton Centre Food Bank will be giving Christmas presents to their customers. New children's books would be very welcome.
