Christmas Cards, Licking Envelopes

Christmas will soon be upon us.

We may all have a Greater need this year to send Our Love ones a Christmas Card

Can We . Should we be licking the envelopes.

I have been Googling this and the General Consensus seems to be that we can. ??

It would seem that the risk is small ??

What do people think ?

we could always use a wetted finger instead, or revive the moist post-office sponge of days gone by

this brought to mind the episode of Seinfeld in which George's fiancee dies after (spoiler alert!) licking glue from cheap envelopes because George stinted on the cost of the wedding invitations

maybe we could send e-cards to keep each other really safe, but that's just so not in the spirit of the season, is it!

Foxy, you can lick whatever you desire so long as its legal and no one objects or is offended by it, however I recommend doing it in the privacy of your own home as no one likes to see a window licker !

Unfortunately, the nature of windows being that they?re actually transparent, licking windows at home in private still will expose unsuspecting neighbouring onlookers.

Perhaps revert to licking mirrors ?
