Loft conversion

I agree you should have three different quotes very detailed covering everything.

My landlord is a property solicitor with a wide range of experiences in the industry and interests in the property market in case you need a further insightful opinion contact me privately with your details and I pass them on.

Hi we got quotes from 4 different people and the prices ranged from 46-80k- same thing for 2 bed and 1 bathroom

We definitely could see that some would be managed better, or designed with a bit more flair

We ended up going with the cheapest one as we knew someone who had used them and were happy- they are solely a loft conversion company so I think it will be a fairly standard job but we can make amendments to the design which will up the cost which will probably bring it up just above 50k (and figured even if there is the odd additional cost we're still comfortable)

Not doing the job until Sept so cant give you much more of a review- but happy to pass on the various companies we got to come by.

The one that came in at 70k was architecturally led and was recommended by a neighbour and their house is GORGEOUS so if you have the money I would really recommend him as he has great designs, will give you lots of design input and also manages the project which does take the pressure off you dealing with the different trades people (but we just couldnt get financially comfortable with the price unfortunately)

I had a one master ensuite loft conversion built into the loft space of my bungalow (Croydon). The team were amazing, very thorough and worked really well with us. I got 3 quotes, went with the cheapest and the most knowledgeable of the 3. We paid ?38000 all in, including architects and building control fees.

We are very happy with them.

    • The 185 is often the same. But that's why buses sometimes (and annoyingly) stop to "regulate the service". To be fair, it's often due to traffic conditions. If there is not much traffic, the one behind catches up with the one in front.
    • I imagine this is because of the average  additional time involved, due to the styles. You could have asked the reason? I will ask, next time I'm in there.  Many salons have this differential pricing.
    • Maybe a humidifier, or bowl of water near her bed might help. Sometimes dry air can cause a sore throat
    • Daughter needs surgery very soon but is getting sore throat in mornings I’m wondering if an air purifier might work… anyone recommends any? Wondering if I could borrow or buy one cheaply somewhere?
