The council have put details of their plans for parking enforcement on the website. I?m sure there will be those who think all restrictions should be scrapped for the period but you see enough inconsiderate parking and driving when restrictions are enforced so this looks like a reasonable compromise to me.

No enforcement on 23 & 24 would be better but there will be people driving about who would park inconsiderately causing problems for deliveries and those doing last minute Christmas shopping so this may seem a bit harsh in some areas but if you make a Christmas bubble after restrictions end on Christmas Eve you / your visitors will be able to park in a bay for the period restrictions are lifted.

Note charging will continue in parks. Understandable as they will be busy. Enforcement of double yellow lines and traffic enforcement (banned turns etc will also continue). Again needed for safety because of the few inconsiderate drivers.

    • I have been reliably informed that it's not the same group.
    • my bet is it's the same group and no amount of talking to is going to make a difference.
    • Definitely not intended  to come across as "gleeful". Quite the opposite, because developments such as this will only encourage extreme right-wingers such as Reform. And heaven help us if they ever formed a government. It's incumbent on Labour to come up with an effective  policy to "smash the gangs" otherwise we are facing Farage and his gang further down the road.
    • It feels like it might be an extension of the summer water bombing spate. The sad thing is this could really put off some visiting the park. I really hope the council seriously consider putting some of their huge parking surplus to funding a serious and permanent warden and police presence in the park; it is needed.
