For those of you with an interest in local history, the Southwark Local Studies Library have uploaded their series of Neighbourhood histories on archive.org for free viewing as a Christmas present.

If it tells you, "The search engine encountered the following error: invalid or no response from Elasticsearch" that's just because the search term already entered is missing the closing bracket.


There seems to be some odd quirk of Phorum that's causing it. Some of my own colons disappeared from online text as well, but this seems to have managed to get the URL ok, using %29.

    • They are. We are back to the same construction racket 8am-8pm every day for the whole of this week. The wall is one of the last things to come down, probably on Saturday.     • @Rockets be a sweety and stop using the large font, it's annoying and I expect most can comprehend. Still not sure how this festival affects you.  Or is it a case that you just like taking on causes 
    • It is intimidating looking through the book sections now.  I sometimes wonder if they're stocking bookshops' remainders. OTOH, when I put  some books out in a cardboard box for taking, it was  encouraging to see that a fair proportion of those taken were aged hardbacks.
