Single Speed Bike - ?125

Recommended Posts

I?m selling my bike as I?d like to buy a new one. I?ve had this since 2012 and was custom built for me by Union Cycle Works in Deptford. Originally it was a geared touring bike but this summer my friends at Brixton Cycles serviced it and turned it into a single speed bicycle.

The bike is great fun to ride and would be suitable for someone around 6ft. There?s a bit of rust on the frame, few scratches and the pedals have seized on to the cranks. It is quite light, I have no trouble carrying up and down three flights of stairs.

I would like ?125 cash, collection from East Dulwich near Goose Green. I can send more photos if you're interested.

Here?s some more of the bike?s specs?

Bike Frame ? Steel lugged frame 58 x 58 cms (with rack and mudguard eyes). Late 80s british eagle in 531 reynolds tubing, resprayed cream with red trim and ?Jasper? painted on the side

Handlebars ? Bull horns

Brakes ? Caliper silver renovated tektro

Wheelset ? 700c Silver Alloy rims

Tyres ? Continental, wire bound and puncture proof tyres, not had one in 9 years!

Pedals ? Siver with clips

    • Thanks all!  KateS - boulangerie Jade is a nice cafe, but they don't do fresh cream cakes. Their eclairs are filled with patisserie cream (a kind of custard), not fresh cream. Azalea- thanks and I've been to Bunhead Bakery (a Palestinian bakery) in Herne Hill a few times. There's a nice chocolate bun they do, which is amazing when then sauce is warmed up. But I haven't seen any fresh cream things there, only white icing. Maybe it's only on a certain day.
    • Warning to parents using the playground in Dulwich Park. My daughter and her friends found a bag of ‘crunchy powder’ in the children’s playground this morning around 11ish. They thought it was ‘popping candy’ and all tried some before seen with it. Request to parents using the playground - if you see plastics bags with suspect looking contents or powder on the floor in the playground or park: pick it up and throw it in the bin. Don’t walk past and think someone else will deal with it. The next person to walk by might be a child who could pick it up not understanding what it could be. Hopefully our daughter and her friends will be ok and it’s a lucky escape. But please be aware in case anyone else’s child may have found it before them.
    • I’m looking for some ply sheets, ideally 9mm or 12mm. It doesn’t have to look good. As long as it’s not rotten it’ll be fine. I’d like bigger sheets, but I’m open to whatever anyone’s got. If you can help, drop me a DM.  Cheers
    • the only known name is from that poster in the window where it says to email [email protected]. I thought that website might shed some light on who is creating the posters I hope whoever was attacked is doing ok, but agree there is something very off/vigilante-ish about all of this
