NOW TAKEN Free, Large Antique rug in need of restoration

This was given to us years ago by a relative working in an antique rug dealers, it lay in their office.

We used it for a few years with another lovely smaller rug strewn across the holes

but It has been in the under stairs cupboard for last couple of years

The holes are bang in the middle so it could be cut in half and the edges bound..

I was tempted to chop it up for interesting passage carpeting but wondered if anyone handy with patching or creative remodeling would like it?
