E8toSE15
Hi!I found out mine is ?730 for 2 beds flat victorian converted. How did you find the history of the building insurance claims? Can we just ask the solicitor to get the history of insurance claims? muffins78
Is the 600 per flat? It may be high but the calc done for our building is based on the rebuild valuation. When we used an agent to manage, they didn?t shop around for quotes. If you think it?s high, ask them did they go out for quotes? What?s the rebuild value and when was the last valuation done? They should be completed every three years by a qualified surveyor. Another impact on cost, may be previous claims and the excess on the policy.I hope this helps somewhat. intexasatthe moment
I've found that past subsidence and underpinning means that a lot of insurers won't touch us . We stick with the firm we have had for years and it's expensive .Have you thought of cutting out the managing agent by going for the right to manage ? https://www.lease-advice.org/fact-sheet/right-to-manage/ Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/275177-building-insurance-on-a-one-bed-flat-in-victorian-conversion-600/#findComment-1488646 Share on other sites
dresswaves
Does seem a bit high. Ours is about ?600 for the house divided into 2 flats so ?300 each flat. With Lansdown Insurance Brokers. We wer getting much higher quotes until we went with them.
