I know, and it's quite right that they do that.


I bought my last printer there.


But they don't wait till you've got outside and then accost you in a street crowded with Christmas shoppers, and continue even after being shown the receipt.


It really shakes you up in any case being accused of something you haven't done, let alone in a place where some of the passers by are likely to know you.


I made the point to M&S that it was quite likely that people we didn't know would know who we were, because of our involvement in local music and community events.

I went in B and M on old kent road a couple of years sago

bought some coffee on offer and a bag of sugar,

didnt want to pay for bag, so held goods in my hands.

Decided to look in PC world Currys at their ovens

had a good look round, left store to be chased out accusing me for nicking coffee

they sent a poor junior, probably because i looked /Fearsome

I said to them but you dont sell coffee,

they told me they do, they sell pods not jars

lucky had receipt in pocket for B&M s

    • But a larger number, in a more hotly contested election, didn't. It is an anomaly that Starmer won a landslide in seats with a turnout for Labour which would have shamed Labour leaders in all the 21st and much of the post war 20th century.
    • I was not suggesting anything else!   I'm not sure how you interpret what I said  as "irrelevant"? I was responding to a post saying that Corbyn was "unelectable". My point was that a  large number  of the electorate  voted for him!
    • that's exactly what happened - Brickhouse were forced to close due to rent hike and then Gail's didn't move in until covid restrictions lifted and normality resumed. Gail's would have opened much sooner as they were lined up and able to offer the landlord much higher rents. Brickhouse was a local favourite
    • The Brickhouse closed just before Covid December 2019. Nothing to do with Gails muscling in as they didn't move into till December 2022. Stop trying to fit a false narrative into a story
