I think one of the main downers of the Co-op is its Pricing inconsistency

Pringles one day ?1.50 then ?3.00

Guiness 4 cans ?4.75 - ?5.50

Cadburys Fruit&nut ?1.00 - ?1.65

Walkers Crisps ?1.25 - ?1.65

Maltesas ?3.00 - ?4.50

Just a few examples.. Thing is, you pick up a few items thinking you Know the price

and get a shock when you get the see the bill when you get home. If you get one ??

I always check before I leave the store.

On MANY occasions some Items have been scanned twice. I have gone back to the till

and this had led to delays for other customers waiting in the queue as bill has to be checked

and if having paid by card it has to be refunded to card as cash cannot be given.

I have seen other customers questioning their Bill but most people do not even check..

The co-op is more overpriced than Waitrose and M&S combined! About time East Dulwich got some bargain shops returning to the neighbourhood. I think a Poundland or B&M type shop would work well in that space. Especially in these difficult times. I envy people with a Iceland Warehouse nearby. The bulk buy options are immense.

Louisa.

Foxy, that seems to be the case across the Co-op estate. But for some reason the LL store seems to be worse than most. I can recall out of date products being left on the shelves for weeks at a time. They should be ashamed of themselves. All these excuses for staff not getting enough sleep, they being paid to do a job! It?s not a charity!

I've been in ED more years than I care to number, and Co-Op has always seemed on it's last legs!

It's stunning how the management seem to be allowed to be absent/uninterested in what goes on in the shop, and seemingly oblivious to the bad publicity!

I've always gone to the top/head office when I've had to complain. Never on the shop floor, no point

I preferred the older days of smaller shops when we were happier and we knew the shopkeepers. The Co-op doesn't really add anything but takes away what we had and makes us miserable cos some people have pounds in their eyes and wanna make a few quid.

Just posted their brilliant funky theme tune from the adverts in the 70s, sadly all down hill from there. Don't think their business model worked in the current world, as a kid we probably had four co-ops in the high street, grocers, funeral directors, electrical and I'm sure another shop (or bank?), plus they did the milk deliveries too. Shame as good in principle but they became shoddy forty years ago.

I bought all our white goods from the co-op on line but they've closed that line of business. Banking and financial services became a disaster, think they overstretched.

We used Co-Op funeral place in Catford, they were brilliant

    • Thanks all, our hope was (despite the diminishing estate) he would get on with it.  Progress is glacial, it's been two years since probate was granted, that's two cold and damp winters with no heating, and not surprisingly a pipe burst. He's blames the issues on the estate agent, who separately had a dispute with him, he had a wobbly when one of the beneficiaries spoke to the estate agent.  Separately he said it was the family's fault for letting the property get into a poor condition.  It was dated, but certainly not in poor condition. There are two five star reviews on Google, and five one star: ** WARNING** This solicitor firm has to be one of the worst I have encountered. The solicitor is prehistoric in his practices and will carry out work at his own snails pace, the fax machine he uses gets turned off at 2 pm and its near impossible to get him on the phone. STAY AWAY, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, check the solicitors ombudsman, this firm has previous bad practice recorded.   Disgusting under no circumstances use this solicitor. For over 10 years he has not carried out the terms of a Will he has not re-invested money but has retained it.  He writes letters which are pure "Flannel" excuses for doing nothing.  You have been warned   shocking experience, delayed the whole process, told other side solicitors to not contact him as he feels pressured etc. never use.   Not fit for 21st century. No website, no email address, no electronic transfer. Very slow, very little communication.   Was not a pleasant experience dealing with this firm
    • If you mean the one outside the church going towards Peckham, it still had the closed sign on it this morning, but as there are no road works there, I'm sure some of the drivers will stop there on request.  The stop outside the chippy coming from Peckham is closed as there are road works in front of it.  The 4 way traffic lights are in operation.., causing a lot of congestion.
    • We found a recommendation for Geek Electrics on a here after we wanted to have a electrical inspection of a property we are buying. From the very beginning through to the end Bob was responsive, helpful and demonstrated his knowledge. He has been an absolute pleasure to deal with. We will defiantly be using Bob again and would thoroughly recommend him! His details are... www.geekelectrics.co.uk 07453 407 226 [email protected]
