Wine mis-priced and arranged by some one who doesn't understand geography and varities. For lovers of animal cruelty there's abominable chicken for small change, fish and red meats hugely underwhelming, lack of organic foods in general, staff looking forward to proper sleep.

Was a mistake to enter, never again. Farmers' markets and proper high street shops make me happy.

Viable for such a large retail space. Viable for the whole community. Viable as a footfall attraction. A option for the whole community as opposed to the Waitrose brigade. Something that offers bargains. You can?t get bargain buys around ED anymore.

The co-op has had more refits than a shop window manikin. Nothing changes. The service remains shoddy, the staff remain disinterested, the stock remains out of date, and the prices remain stupidly high.

I think it?s about time a alternative was given a chance. Perhaps even a Lidl or Aldi if home bargains doesn?t float your boat?

Louisa.

I think the CoOp on LL has got better. The staff are friendly and will go and check for items without making you think you'd asked for their firstborn, and the shop itself is rarely crowded. There are bargains to be had and the CoOp gives to local charities and gives back to you if you sign up for its loyalty card. I don't want and do not expect a red carpet when I go to buy my teabags. M and S is crowded nearly always because it is a small premises after all, and the management have crammed in many items in too many aisles. Staff are on the whole helpful, even if some don't wear their masks properly or at all (which I mentioned to a member of staff who was supervising).

    • There was an excellent discussion on Newscast last night between the BBC Political Editor, the director of the IFS and the director of More In Common - all highly intelligent people with no party political agenda and far more across their briefs than any minister I've seen in years. The consensus was that Labour are so unpopular and untrusted by the electorate already, as are the Conservatives, that breaking the manifesto pledge on income tax wouldn't drive their approval ratings any lower, so they should, and I quote, 'Roll The Dice', hope for the best and see where we are in a couple of years time. As a strategy, i don't know whether I find that quite worrying or just an honest appraisal of what most governments actually do in practice.
    • They are a third of the way through their term Earl. It's no good blaming other people anymore. They only have three years left to fix what is now their own mess. And its not just lies in the manifesto. There were lies at the last budget too, when they said that was it, they weren't coming back for more tax and more borrowing. They'd already blamed the increase in NIC taxes on what they claimed was a thorough investigation. They either knew everything then or they lied about that too .   They need to stop lying and start behaving. If they don't the next government won't be theirs, it will be led by Nigel Farage.  They have to turn it round rapidly. Blaming other people, telling lies and breaking promises isn't going to cut it any more.
    • Is it lame? Or is it Lamey? (sorry)
