My 2 year niece Dillan is doing her bit to raise money to support Dulwich stables. Have posted this elsewhere on the Forum but the lovely EDF community have suggested I also move it here. Please take a look and support if you can. Dillan doesn't understand that she's just hit 3K, she just knows she loves Rocky!

Thanks everyone.

Myself and my other half have donated and shared with our neighbours.

Its a Wonderful idea as We are so lucky to have the Stables in our community-and I for one get great pleasure from walking past and seeing the ponies looking out of their stalls.

Good luck Dillan and Rocky and if I'm not in work that day I will be there cheering them along.

Just adorable!

@Chick - hoping you took it up with them?

@ thread: BUT my son was going there before lockdown as was his friend and the staff and trainers have always been really lovely to him/us.

I'll definitely be supporting your fundraiser! Go Dillan!

Ahh, thanks HPSaucy, that's really very kind. Yes, the stables have always been lovely to Dillan, and to her mum before that, neither of whom would ever have otherwise had the chance to be around horses. Always sorry to hear if someone had a bad experience, but that would definitely be an exception!
Oh wow! BBC Radio London are covering Dillan & Rocky's fundraiser on Wed morning. So excited! Thank you everyone for all your support. There's still a way to go to their target, but we know they'll get there. Dillan just needs to stop nicking all the carrots!!😄

This picture made my day!

I really really pray that you reach your target-As a 60 year old who grew up in the inner city I cant stress enough how wonderful it is for the local children (and adults..I'd love to learn to ride..never too late they say!)to have access to a Stables and actually for horse loving teens to have the chance to help with the mucking out and experience being around horses..something as a horse crazy 15 year year old I would have loved to be able to do.

I had to go to work today so wasn't able to attend and wave a carrot in support

I saw that Dillan has raised over 3.8k!

Brilliant !

Looking forward to seeing photos.

Cutest thing! It was utterly freezing yesterday so I raise my hat to them both.

Well done!

    • This week's edition of The Briefing Room I found really useful and impressively informative on the training aspect.  David Aaronovitch has come a long way since his University Challenge day. 😉  It's available to hear online or download as mp3. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002n7wv In a few days time resident doctors -who used to be known as junior doctors - were meant to be going on strike. This would be the 14th strike by the doctors’ union since March 2023. The ostensible reason was pay but now the dispute may be over without more increases to salary levels. The Government has instead made an offer to do something about the other big issue for early career doctors - working conditions and specialist training places. David Aaronovitch and guests discuss what's going on and ask what the problem is with the way we in Britain train our doctors? Guests: Hugh Pym, BBC Health Editor Sir Andrew Goddard, Consultant Gastroenterologist Professor Martin McKee, Professor of European Public Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Mark Dayan, Policy Analyst, Nuffield Trust. Presenter: David Aaronovitch Producers: Caroline Bayley, Kirsteen Knight, Cordelia Hemming Production Co-ordinator: Maria Ogundele Sound Engineers: Michael Regaard, Gareth Jones Editor: Richard Vadon
