Blocked from Outlook/Hotmail

I have been blocked from my hotmail account since yesterday, as there had been activity that violates the "Microsoft Services Agreement'.

I have followed the link provided and entered my details, including a secondary email address. Googling reveals that many have had their account locked for a month or more.

I have contacted Microsoft accounts support line who were, unsurprisingly, of no help.

Any suggestions? Anyone had their account unlocked relatively quickly? I will be opening a new email account with a different provider but do need access to my emails asap.

How did you find out you were blocked?

Was it when you tried to log in or was it via an email or text alert? Because it sounds like you may have been phished

If it was via an email, it's probably worth changing your passwords on other accounts asap

It was via my iPhone settings - asking me to reenter my password and then I realised it was blocked.

Yes, I think you are right, that it has been hacked but I think the it has genuinely been blocked by Microsoft, as I didn't go via an email link.
