Hi there,

I am posting here to see if there are any couples out there expecting their first baby who would be available to be interviewed for a film for the Guardian.

The Guardian is producing a series of short (6-8 minute) observational documentaries about 'key life experiences'. These are intimate portraits of individuals and families which include original interviews and personal archive.

We are looking particularly for couples in their final trimester who would be interested in sharing their story for a film about 'having your first baby'.

This will not be a film about the birth; it aims to discuss the psychological changes a woman and man encounter in the weeks before and immediately after the birth of their first child (perhaps the sudden rush of responsibility, the acts of nesting, fears about being good parents, about caring and providing). The aim is to work with people in a way that's comfortable for them, to express with sensitivity and compassion something of what this stage in their life feels like.

An example of a similar video produced by the Guardian with photographer Briony Campbell (http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/video/2010/apr/13/briony-campbell-father-cancer). Saying Goodbye With My Camera is an intimate portrait of Briony's relationship with her father in the final stages of his life. We worked with Briony at an extremely difficult time in her life and the priority throughout the production process was to support her to express her own truth in order to create something that she and her family could feel proud of.

This film went on to win a prestigious Webby Award for 'Best Documentary'.

Please feel free to message me on this forum if you think you may be interested and feel free to spread the word!

Many thanks,

Ekaterina Ochagavia

    • Hi, does anyone have their up to date number please?
    • I imagine Franco Manca's business dropped off quite a bit when Yard Sale opened (though isn't Yard Sale delivery only?) But in any case, both of those are chains.
    • Thanks. I'll call them shortly as I could get there without the car.  That's good of Sainsburys! We've done the apple pie and tart thing, an ongoing muesli thing and the coleslaw thing - just not sure what effect all the sugars are having on our digestive tracts.  If we were in Somerset and had a press, I'd consider it. Can't be that diffcult, can it?
    • One time Sainsbury's delivered 6 bags of apples instead of 6 single apples which I couldn't possibly get through. I phoned Pecan in Peckham to ask if they would accept them despite their website stating no fresh foods. I must have phoned at just the right time as they were happy to accept them. Sainsburys gave me a refund so the donation was courtesy of them. Or you could experiment with all kinds of apple recipes and write a blog about it
