I actually saw this on Sunday evening in the sky to the west and thought for a moment we were going the way of the dinosaurs - it was huge. Then it disappeared - still in the sky (burned up I guess).

Was it really late? I was wondering why I shot wide awake with a racing heart for no apparent reason! Thought maybe the sonic boom..
