Thank you Gwendolen1, I similarly agree with your comments. I especially agree that they were pretty lucky to get away with a Good. I really question whether this would have happened had this not been an academy and therefore a political hot potato?

I really hope the Governors are asking for this, but then again, have you heard the HT talk? Well I am guessing you like I have at the open days you discuss. I could not stick with his long and meandering speech and I wonder whether this is deliberate? Talking so much that people either stop listening or forget the point, lose track of the thread. Maybe it is just my poor levels of concentration. I hope the governors do not have this problem, because this is a very serious issue which needs to not only be considered but thoroughly and carefully analysed in order to make sufficient improvements.

I have edited this twice because I don't want to be considered guilty of libel and it seems that the definition is somewhat unclear when it comes to this subject

I forgot about this, of course! Total embarrassment to admit anything has gone wrong. But this is bitterly unfair on every other school who has to adhere to certain standards set.

    • I know people won’t have any sympathy but the SEND challenge was brought up when taxing parents who have opted for independent school to meet a child’s SEND needs. Funding crisis is getting worse and the VAT on Education pushed children out of independent schools, now their SEND needs are to be met by the state.
    • I completely agree with you - and last night was really terrible where I am. Between midnight and 1am was the worst, where it genuinely felt like a war zone. I had to run out of my house to try and stop a grown man setting them off in open space right by our front doors. In response he went to throw a half lit one at me and then seemed to think better of it. I am so sad at how bad the situation has got here and how selfish people are. Fireworks are bad for the environment and for pets and wildlife, as well as just being unnecessary noise for people too. I have sent an email today to Helen Hayes, which I have done previously on this issue. Would advise anyone to write to your MP to do the same, and to ask them to engage with the debates scheduled for 19 Jan.
    • And they started long before midnight!
    • First mate - I wondered if I was imagining things at 4.45 this morning . Apparently not .
