Hello EDF

We are Fifty Seven, on North Cross Road and we are now a fully licensed Restaurant. We are a collaboration between Suzanne James Caterers and Vits + Kicks Drinks. We are both SE22 residents and hope we bring you all something new to the restaurant circuit.

We have been busy recipe testing menus as well as cocktails over these past few weeks and you can find us on facebook group Fity Seven, SE22 or instagram @fiftysevenSJ

Our menu includes something for breakfast, brunch, lunch and supper. Our drinks include hedonistically healthy cocktails, juices and smoothies with a kick - alcohol as well as your classic cocktails, wines, beers and much more.

We will be reopening properly on Tuesday 13th April for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner service.

Our opening days will be Tuesday to Saturday (for now) from 9am and we may, or may not, take a little break before dinner service - if you keep us busy and we will stay open!

We have already met many of you as you have dropped in to say hello and we would love for you to return to enjoy the food and drinks we have on offer.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read. You can email us any questions via [email protected]

Best wishes

Suzanne

(ps. The Brownie Bar is back on a Saturday too!)

Well what a week that was!

Thank you to everyone who came to Fifty Seven, Kitchen + Bar on North Cross Road this past week. It?s was such an absolute joy to see those that we know and meet new people. I have thoroughly enjoyed cooking for you and Matty has loved making your drinks!

For those that asked, we are Suzanne James Caterers and Vits + Kicks Drinks and a partnership at Fifty Seven bringing you a fabulous menu, hedonistically healthy drinks and a beautiful outdoor space.

We are up and running and would love more of you to drop by!

We open at

9am for coffee and pastries

10am for coffee and brunch

12noon for drinks and lunch

6pm for drinks and dinner / small plates

We are trying to close between 3pm - 6pm for a rest and tidy up but keep us busy and we will stay open for you!

The hospitality industry has been decimated this past year and both of our businesses have been hard hit hence our joint venture at Fifty Seven

Much love and see you soon

Suzanne + Matty

Thank you so much.

We are finding our feet and living seeing regulars as well as new people

See you soon

Ps. We currently have a voucher for free brownie with all hot drinks purchased before 3pm on Saturday (this coming Saturday) pick one up as the brownie is superb, as are the hot drinks!

    • thanks Jenijenjen and all - yes, i remember walking or taking the bus from the elephant (where i was working) to Camberwell to get there.  I think Tim - who's still at Franklin's -  was there in those days, and the woman who ran the cafe!  Other food places that i remember fondly are the ones in Neal's Yard (with the Hunkin sculpture that you could put a coin in ) and the basement lunch place at the Tottenham Court Road junction with Hanway Street...
    • Did you try the emergency number posted above? It mentions lift breakdowns over the festive period outside the advertised  times. Hope you got it sorted x
    • People working in shops should not be "attempting to do the bill in their head." Nor if questioned should they be  trying to "get to an agreeable number." They should be actually (not trying to) getting to the correct number. I'm afraid in many cases it is clearly more than incorrect arithmetic. One New Year's Eve in a restaurant (not in East Dulwich but quite near it) two of us were charged for thirty poppadoms. We were quite merry when the bill came, but not so merry as to not notice something amiss. Unfortunately we have had similar things happen in a well established East Dulwich restaurant we no longer use. There is also a shop in East Dulwich which is open late at night. It used not to display prices on its goods (that may have changed). On querying the bill, we several times found a mistake had been made. Once we were charged twice for the same goods. There is a limit to how many times you can accept a "mistake".  There is also a limit to how many times you can accept the "friendly" sweet talking after it.
