volunteer for Speedwatch in May

Recommended Posts

Spring into Speedwatch (aka Roadwatch so as not to upset motorists). May's schedule is attached and much needed I feel. Lots of opportunities in East Dulwich.

Lunatics passing within centimeters of my handlebars and shouting insults from their car windows are continuous in my vicinity. Drivers seem to have gone nuts. Too much Spice and not enough alcohol.

You can calm them down a bit by volunteering for Speedwatch which is enjoyable revenge (personal testimonial attached). If you feel the call but the schedule is inconvenient, then Kevin will cheerfully adapt it to your availability and your chosen spot.

Speedwatch is a good deed in a slightly brightening world. More info on the virtues of Speedwatch here: https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/66-in-a-20mph-zone/. To join in, email Kevin at [email protected]. He's very welcoming.

    • It was a reactionary post and inappropriate when talking about a real case and a real person who was harmed.  London streets are generally pretty safe.  Sadly violent crime happens from time to time, as it always has.
    • Do tell, CPR Dave, what the spiteful jealous stuff is - I'm intrigued.  Agree - Burnham is a top class communicator (polar opposite of Starmer) he'd do a great job of uniting the party. I still think Wes Streeting has the edge, though I'm sure he has more enemies as well.
    • This is a huge part of the problem.   Starmer is only interested in himself, not in what is best for our country.    There's a litany of stuff he's done for spiteful jealous personal reasons which has damaged the nation enormously. Burnham would be a much better leader than of the other dross left behind when Starmer goes. To inflict a worse leader (and PM) upon us for his own selfish reasons would add to the problems and be entirely in keeping with his woeful premiership so far.
    • I heard today there was a burglary in Lacon Road yesterday evening between 20.00 - 22.00,  apparently the owners were home at the time & thieves got away with electrical items along with the owners car!  Wtf!   Anyone heard anything else?
