Recommendation for personal butcher/fishmonger

I had seen a post here advertising a meat and fish delivery service by Markymarket. I wanted some good quality, well priced fish for a dinner party and he sourced it for me. It was lovely and I think I have recommended him for it. However, it was only on Saturday that I realised the true worth of this guy. It was getting late, I had nothing for dinner and really didn't was to traipse out into the snow to buy something, si I called up Markymarket on the off chance that he had something left over. He offered me a corn fed chicken or some steak burgers, both from Smithfield market. Being slightly put off by the thought of burgers at the moment, I plumbed for the chicken. He delivered it in less than half an hour. It was delicious.

This guy should go far. I wish him the best of luck.

    • It’s literal.  There are levels of earners. Those who don’t work and get benefits, those who work and get benefits, those who work but don’t get benefits. now, it’s an assumption that the last group are all wealthy, but that’s not the case. People in this last group are most exposed.. private rent, higher tax brackets, cost of living increases, yet they pay the most tax, and get no help.    So many questions: why are workers needing to be subsidised? Should companies pay more? Should there be private rent caps?  Why are people better off not working at all, or only working low hours to ensure they get benefits top ups?  How do you think people respond to this?     Do you realise that a number of companies are focussing on buying property? The banks, the supermarkets! Yet the government is squeezing individuals out of this equation. What do you think this will look like in the future? When foreign companies own the majority of UK property?
    • All depends on what you call reasonably priced!  Was it for Christmas Day?   Noticed that The Plough were advertising Christmas Lunches but did not see any prices listed.
    • A few weeks back, I booked an appointment by phone, not the app, which surely must be the same process as booking it at reception? Though it was for a longer appointment than usual, so maybe that was why?
