Just come across this thread and have to disagree with the complaint. This little cafe adds massively to the neighbourhood and charm of East Dulwich. The food is delicious, the staff lovely, the prices are good and we are lucky to have it!

With regards to the concerns of space and getting past - now more than ever it should be the councils responsibility to widen the pavement and give small businesses like this extra space to accommodate their guests and cater to the community. If necessary stop cars from parking in front of the cafe and allocate that space to extra tables!

We are lucky to have the Blue Brick and should all be supporting independent businesses especially now!

"it should be the councils responsibility to widen the pavement..."

Gonna make it difficult for the bin lorries to get around the corner if the pavement around the corner has been widened to fit more tables in. Same result if tables are plonked along the double yellow lines, in fact. Fine by me if some car parking spaces are taken away though

Agree.

Its on a quiet backstreet and with single tables on the pavement with a chair each side against the wall there is plenty of room to pass by.

We have a limited amount of precious streetscape, and much of it is used for storing cars that spend 90% of their existence stationary. We could have plenty of space for pedestrians and street diners if we reduced the amount of parking spaces by just 10%.

But that's "controversial", and it's better to have wheelchair users and cafes bicker over 6" of pavement width.
